Spen-Tech manufactures & delivers all tooling, gages, robot adhesive stations, and quality inspection equipment for the GM Kokomo production plant in 3 weeks time!
On April 8th 2020 the Department of Health and Human Services announced the first contract for ventilator production rated under the Defense Production Act, to General Motors. GM’s contract, at a total contract price of $489.4 million, for 30,000 ventilators to be delivered to the Strategic National Stockpile by the end of August 2020.
Prior to this official announcement on March 23, 2020 Spen-Tech Machine Engineering was awarded the contract from GM to supply all of the production tooling required to assemble the ventilators at what is now known as “Ventilator Fast”.
In fact Spen-Tech delivered all tooling, gages, robot adhesive stations, and quality inspection equipment for the GM Kokomo production plant in 3 weeks time! In addition to supplying tooling, Spen-Tech also supplied all ancillary items used by the GM assembly team. I.E. chairs, hand tools, scissors, staplers etc.
