JOB DESCRIPTION

Spen-Tech has an opening for an Industrial Machine Sales & Project Manager's main objective is to ensure high quality standards as products are being produced by the company and its suppliers.

Job Duties include,

As a Sales/Project Manager, you will:

 

  • Work with customers to understand their requirements, create solutions and ensure a smooth sales process.

  • Work to seek out and find new sales leads, through cold calling, business directories, client referrals, etc.

  • Establish, develop and maintain positive business and customer relationships

  • Develop and Maintain standard company documents i.e. Schedules, Open issues lists, Checklists during all stages.  This must be done considering the level of experience of the designers and their current workload.

  • Ensure any new engineering designs required to meet project specific requirements are completed on time to support the engineering release of the project.

  • Ensure engineering designs meet project specific requirements.

  • Provide support and ensure appropriate resources are assigned to your assigned projects.

  • Lead process improvement initiatives related to the development and Sales of Project Management. 

  • Continually push to improve our level of quality in all the active areas that can be used in projects.  This includes making sure there are no issues to cause problems with the functionality of the equipment, safety of the user, or rework in the factory during assembly.

  • Ensure the best design practices are properly used by the mechanical designers on their deliverables. 

  • Address all issues.  Develop strategies to avoid recurrence of these.

  • Achieve agreed upon sales targets and outcomes within schedule

  • Assist in equipment concepts.

  • Monitor and act to ensure on time deliveries of all project phases.

  • Managing a team of controls and mechanical engineers, designers and drafters.

  • Work in a manufacturing environment for highly customized and engineered equipment.

  • Multitask and manage large workloads and business demands.

  • Embrace a culture of quality and continuous improvement.

  • Have a strong work ethic to do what it takes to get the job done.

  • Will work overtime and weekends as necessary.

  • Travel as required to meet sales and project goals.

  • Manage contract financials

  • Estimate create proposals for customer new project requests.

  • Track project costs and change order impact.

  • Quote change order costs to customer and communicate related timing impact as applicable




 

Experience

Overall Experience

A minimum of 5 years’ experience related to Industrial Machine Design or Assembly and 5 years in Sales/Project Management

 

Job Training

Employees in this position usually require training involving on-the-job experience, informal training with experienced workers, and formal training with qualified experts.

 

Education

PMP certification is preferred, however a minimum of ten years related experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience is also acceptable.

 

Travel

Travel will be required for visiting customer sites, external suppliers etc.  Possession of a valid U.S. passport may be required. The length of stay will vary depending on the complexity of the scope of work, but a total of 70% is possible.
